Everything the brothers Garza play is infected with pure bluesy groove +J%9%DqF  
and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on Kl k[h  
Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," Fu#mMn0c  
"Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," $~2qEe.h  
"Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine "]D2}E>U;  
instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying c{s%kVOzg  
guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba H-1y 2AQ  
drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock. 1t7S:IZ  
Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry ?3:xR_VWZu  
proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar Z,m;eCLG]  
offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the M `bEnu  
I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals l*C(FPw4  
that open the set. "I've Longed for Christmas" is a bona fide new uWKc .  
seasonal tune with its warmth, soulful wah-wah guitar, and laid-back O U3KB  
drum kit shuffling around a slippery groove. The brothers sing m\xE8D(,  
unfettered joyful harmonies about giving, peace, love, and joy ?and the <xQHb^:  
celebration of Christ's birth. "She'll Be My Everything for Christmas" fo30f=^Gi  
is inspired by Fats Domino's New Orleans brand of rhythm & blues with `l8^n0-  
loose strolls up and down the keyboard and his celebration of love Upkw.`D`  
between two people. The relaxed, back to basics approach works well. So jB!Q8#&Q
