jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of Ea\Khf]2  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an p;<brwN  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented YP
NG9^Y  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of g<$q#l~4xH  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The TQg~I/  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to d/Y#oVI  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to wmnh7'|0u  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling MGE8

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that - HiRXB  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his {<1 ]cP  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost y$C\b\hM  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his ErXzKf  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album u</LgOP`-  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to <P1yA>=3`  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. M=Cl|  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr K)[DA*W  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters K]c\3[vR  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. $Cx?%X^b  
If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably GjH$!P=.  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of WYXh1_nyk

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs ^'ac| +  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant SM8Wg>  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier 0S71&I$u]  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so G24Ov&H  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any ft><Ql3  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although f )Ef
-o  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is KO3X)D<3  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of kD(#LM<9s  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything k$GtzjN
 
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. 2~R%_r+<

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too CEAmb[h  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your vN

affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than jq%}=-%KE  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair tz5\O}  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit gC(@]%  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit 2f
g P  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been p-xG&CU  
welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple +8Y|kC{9"
