Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all

intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an Ik{[BRzUgt  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented @t

as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of po J7q (  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The Bw5zh1ALC;  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to n-X;JYQW  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to [C1.*Q+l  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling SvR:tyF

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that E?$|`<o{|`  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his <cC0l-=  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost tG!ApL  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his %x$1g)  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album "J51\8G@@  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to : ?K}.Kb  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. SePPI.n  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr z4qw*. 5  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters ;%-f>'KhI7  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. }^T7S2_Qy  
If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably Zp5;=8wa;  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of >lyX";X#

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs sZ~q|}D-  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant ;Y/{q B!  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier um/2.Sn>  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so $U3|.4  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any SZ/}2_;  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although Xr?(w(3  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is 2oY.MQD7iW  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of U[l7n3Y=  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything PwF 1Pr`r  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. &b!L$@6

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too ].E89_|O  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your jZRf{  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than FG-v71!h#  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair q_0So}  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit ;3\oU$'  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit E;$;
g#ksf  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been +sN'Y/-  
welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple aT9+] Ig
