UcoDD 专辑介绍：
= !@5! "m BX$t'gb It has become patently obvious that San Angelo, Texas' Los Lonely Boys
v61'fQ1Qg! have arrived at their true mainstream place in the musical order when
#M9rt ~4 they can release a Christmas album on Sony. And what's not to like?
$-tgd<2h Everything the brothers Garza play is infected with pure bluesy groove
@qszwQav$ and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on
UK{6 Rh
; Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,"
0N" VOEvG "Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,"
`i'72\( "Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine
rC>')`uk instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying
'kW' e guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba
g ->cgExj drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock.
W{\){fr6O Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry
O>^0} proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar
".z~c%' offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the
% Uk]e5Hu I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals
OiAi{
71 that open the set. "I've Longed for Christmas" is a bona fide new
J;Az0[qMR seasonal tune with its warmth, soulful wah-wah guitar, and laid-back
_p vL b drum kit shuffling around a slippery groove. The brothers sing
,,r%Y&: `6 unfettered joyful harmonies about giving, peace, love, and joy ?and the
* B(na+ celebration of Christ's birth. "She'll Be My Everything for Christmas"
?6@Y"5
z3g is inspired by Fats Domino's New Orleans brand of rhythm & blues with
95giqQ(N loose strolls up and down the keyboard and his celebration of love
VmrW\rH@ between two people. The relaxed, back to basics approach works well. So
JMN1+:7i if you're looking for something else to put in your holiday selection,
et/ :vLl13 Christmas Spirit is an excellent bet , not only to inspire cheer in
Zf1
uK(6X yourself, but to delight your guests as well.
