M80O;0N%A and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on
Rm$( X5x>o Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,"
{o*$ |4q4 "Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,"
r_tt~|s,> "Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine
+eLL )uk instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying
D88IU9V&n guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba
Tl]yl$ drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock.
w6Mv%ZO_ Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry
TMs Cl6dB proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar
tk8\,!9Q offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the
pSYEC, 0B I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals

m C that open the set. "I've Longed for Christmas" is a bona fide new
CMv8n@ry seasonal tune with its warmth, soulful wah-wah guitar, and laid-back
V;J3lV< drum kit shuffling around a slippery groove. The brothers sing
/"~UGn]R unfettered joyful harmonies about giving, peace, love, and joy ?and the
Q:y'G9b celebration of Christ's birth. "She'll Be My Everything for Christmas"

9p3^: S is inspired by Fats Domino's New Orleans brand of rhythm & blues with
4_'B oU4 loose strolls up and down the keyboard and his celebration of love
