polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the MO#%w  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of o-O/MS
 
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an XtfL{Fy|T  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented ~*

as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of z7PPwTBa  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The x\Sp~]o3C  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to E7_^RWG  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to 2 yP#:T/z  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling \k1Wh-3

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that +]]wf'w  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his g'Xl>q  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost jSYj+k  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his 1C$^S]v%a  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album D}"GrY5  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to &`TX4b^/!  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. =_yOX=g|  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr N%B#f\N  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters //+

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs 2tr2:PB`  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant <01B\t

lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier ufR |  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so 6U/wFT!7$  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any a|7V{pp=M  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although ZY/at/v  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is ,OasT!Sr  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of huTJ  a2  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything <aHK{*'3  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. Xj-3C[8@

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too vl*RR oJ  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your S,8zh/1y  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than 8Peqm?{5Y5  
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair bm+ Mr  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit DSjo%Brd-  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit S&=B&23T  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been !X
