fYUbr"Oe underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented
I`4k5KB; as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
*e%(J$t bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
Gf\u%S!% Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
/ &#b*46 its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
C {2y*sx accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
5rlZ'>I. mineral water.
_t.U b : KGNBzy~9 The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
-I*NS6 truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
% h "%G=: laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
'Z 82+uU% and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
XO,gEn&6V younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
3w$Ib}7 and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
5KRI}f Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.

= @n `5g be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

gS themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
`VD7VX,rp* lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
8c5%~}kG than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
2'5 u}G9 but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
A`ScAzx5{ kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
:,1 kSM%r his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
^zVW 3 Y q doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
|nT+ W| 0U icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
t# <(Q in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
yYn 7y1B =At)?A9[ Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
\oy8)o/Gb polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
