Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all ^%>kO,  
polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the mD58T2Z  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of jd-glE,Y/  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an K^[#]+nQ  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented Lns D  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of Ao9R:|9  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The DcD{*t?x  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to %O[N}_XHEh  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to d_z59  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling )_7>nuQ6

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that mpw

truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his ZWUP ^

laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost 3gZ8.8q3  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his W"q@Qa`Bm  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album *OjKcs  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to An`3Ex[  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. IE2"rQT  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr Orn0Zpp<z  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters ]T:;Vo  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. f9u^R=Ff[  
If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably hT g<*  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of `#P$ ]:

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs .Ajz r8P  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant R`8@@}  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier .="bzgC3A  
than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so 9!',b>C6  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any !YL..fb  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although #-VMg+14  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is hfWFD,  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of `>C<}xO  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything <UP m=Hb  
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. 7, } $u

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too %r\n%$@_  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your C4$:mJ>y  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than Sl2iz?   
your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair 1T&Rc4$Sn7  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit jKIxdY:U  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit {Azn&|%.t  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been 9pn>-1N J  
welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple v X~RP *
