": mCZ Ut and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on
kt;}] O2%R Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,"
0 =3FO}[u "Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,"
hz&^_ G6` "Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine
n P0Ziu'{ instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying
40`9t Xn guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba
`HE>%=]b drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock.
\r:m ({G Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry
;}UIj{sj* proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar
f(EYx)gZ offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the
3 C E 39W I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals
