Everything the brothers Garza play is infected with pure bluesy groove jbmTmh1q  
and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on OB^T q~i  
Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," MI#mAg<  
"Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," m~`>` 4  
"Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine ;4#D,zlO^  
instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying [aqu}Su  
guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba acW'$@y9?N  
drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock. .tXtcf/  
Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry \%A%s*1  
proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar D'[

offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the g:#dl\k  
I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals 0pg Y1i7  
that open the set. "I've Longed for Christmas" is a bona fide new #D%ygh=  
seasonal tune with its warmth, soulful wah-wah guitar, and laid-back H-5<S@8
 
drum kit shuffling around a slippery groove. The brothers sing ;/8{N0  
unfettered joyful harmonies about giving, peace, love, and joy ?and the 3OqX/z,  
celebration of Christ's birth. "She'll Be My Everything for Christmas" e [0w5)X   
is inspired by Fats Domino's New Orleans brand of rhythm & blues with ;N=G=X|}  
loose strolls up and down the keyboard and his celebration of love HgRwiIt
