Everything the brothers Garza play is infected with pure bluesy groove tcovMn'  
and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on I=N;F6  
Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," {i:5XL   
"Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," Mn<G9KR  
"Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine A7{l60(5  
instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying fxW,S  
guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba L&C<-BA/  
drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock. 9t`Z_HwdCb  
Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry $On  
proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar #g.J,L  
offering his best modern read of Berry's instrumental innovation on the .zm'E<
  
I-IV-V progression. But the real highlights here are the two originals IEi E6z]L(  
that open the set. "I've Longed for Christmas" is a bona fide new %]>LnbM>4  
seasonal tune with its warmth, soulful wah-wah guitar, and laid-back c1v,5c6d j  
drum kit shuffling around a slippery groove. The brothers sing SC'F,!  
unfettered joyful harmonies about giving, peace, love, and joy ?and the ;$ot,mH?T  
celebration of Christ's birth. "She'll Be My Everything for Christmas" /}~; b#t  
is inspired by Fats Domino's New Orleans brand of rhythm & blues with 5kwDmJy  
loose strolls up and down the keyboard and his celebration of love >[4;K&$B
