I)AV Everything the brothers Garza play is infected with pure bluesy groove
0(;d<u)fS and roots rock verve. The ten songs here are Garza-ized takes on
Efb>ZQ Christmas standards: "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,"
bE2^sx`( "Away in a Manger," "Feliz Navidad," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,"
k~u$&a "Carol of the Bells," and "Silent Night." The latter two are fine
xT I&X9P instrumentals. "Carol of the Bells,'" especially, is a deeply satisfying
0A@ 'w*= guitar and percussion workout that embraces not only hard rhumba
5B!l6ST drumming, but funk, Mexican folk music, and screaming blues-rock.
BF 2,E<^A Hopefully, their version of "Run Rudolph Run" will make Chuck Berry
Dx =ms^oN5 proud, with its rumbling upright piano and bassline, and Henry's guitar
