At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short N5>ioJj  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself 6#sd"JvtQ  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her L&[u

first song, which was about her mother, and which helped #0K122oY  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical un{LwZH  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of _9%R U"  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny uJQ#l\t  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, LvlVZjT

in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a ?:D#\4=US  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to i:9f#  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. sEpY&6*

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in ZPrL)']  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical /U |@sw4  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave (*{Y#XD{  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers :VP*\K/:  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with ,+0#.Ns$

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded Gqe?CM  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York ~p9nAACU  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five !q:[$g-@q  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians 2Zf}t  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was G}!dm0s$  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November #G'Y2l

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through H7&>cM  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she q)Qd+:a7{  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January &e2|]C4  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, (/x%zmY;/U  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig 4/6?wX  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June ^FaBaDcnl  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the FW](GWp`:

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second .UxbwTup  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in >Lv Q&fAo  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She x+?P/Ckg  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band a: Ch"la  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell Lye^G%{  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson ZbmBwW_ 7  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine z[zURj-*]  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and  58S>B'  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and uc>u=kEue  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by rCOH*m&
