At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short |I=T@1_D  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself `WS&rmq&'  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her DHRlWQox  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped @O~pV`_tD  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical R.3q0yZ wF  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of # f\rt   
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny vP,n(reM  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, *n!J=yS  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering 0"SU_jQzv  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a w32y3~  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to E?@m?@*/

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in w!XD/jN  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical (;,sc$H]  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave

Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with !n%j)`0M

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded QsW/X0YBv  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York uw8f ~:LT  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five to&m4+5?6  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians k;W XB|k  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was oL<St$1  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November dF2RH)U d  
2007 in the United States and Japan. +H2Qk4XFB

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through 6w77YTJ  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she P'rb%W  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January S]{oPc[7  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, >R=|Wo`Ri  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig M3K fd  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June #fM'>$N  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the 1YMh1+1

album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in A)KZ a

Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She NuI9i

is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band I?NyM  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell 'f|o{  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson y?!"6t7&  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine H']+L~j  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and  z$Qbj   
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and Vz[C=_m  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by @|)Z"m7
