At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short wtUG2 (  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself OL'=a|g|c  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her Vj]kJ,j\ y

her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical 10J*S[n1  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of xY S%dLE"  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny YXtGuO\q  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, d<Os TA

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in <e^/hR4O  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical DPwSg\*)  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave KR}0( ,Y  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers 'O`3FI  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with 7&3URglsL"

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded W.|6$hRl)  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York /wTf&_"mTL  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five [86'/:L\2  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians ;SW-dfo2i  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was ' XF`&3i  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November *[H+8/n_  
2007 in the United States and Japan. XOCau.#

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through wuzz%9;@B  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she XNUqZ-M:  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January [&CM-` N  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, FZ9<Q  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig ^kr)U8  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June W/>?1+r.Z  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the j

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second tD]&e t  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in \V>%yl{8  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She 2eU[*x  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band f}X8|GlBo  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell L:M9|/  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson .A\\v6@  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine xp&!Cl>C3\  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and S=}~I  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and mr!I}I7x&x  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by DQ\&5ytP
