At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short WPmH4L>T  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself .>Gnb2  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her E,S[3+  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped @%7IZg;P6  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical X0\2qD  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of J4yL"iMt  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny g>m)|o'  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, MM}lW-q;  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering 3@qy}Nm  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a k`l={f8C  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to %h}Qf&U_

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in |WiE`&? xP  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical p?uk|C2  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave \kDQ[4mGq  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers *oby(D"p  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with CIxa" MW

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded YYN'LF#j  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York 1KUM!DUD  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five r) u@,P  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians bess b>=  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was (KLhF  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November [v+5|twxpU

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through S,s#D9NU  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she MtVvi6T  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January ~: fSD

and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig >,QCKZH  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June ${rWDZ0Z

album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in P*B@it  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She 6.a5%:

includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell 4x&Dz0[[S  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson J< 0d"'

Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and hJ]Oa7r
