|cc At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short
! 5E%W[ time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself
XW&8T"q7 to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her

:~0^ib<v; taste was influenced by her father's large selection of
|`94W j< vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
7n\j"0z Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,
(4{@oM#H6 who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering
_ \v@9Q \ in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
a' >$88tl first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
3"^)bGe drop out of school at the age of eighteen.

8d`}, At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
Gm mT'3Q Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
Z_^Kl76D talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave
y_7XYT!w her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers
o trTrh Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with
$5Y^fwIK Polydor Records.

RZ/+ K= her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York

uU9z Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five

Kt3x+x( organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
vVAZSR# released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
xeP;"J} 2007 in the United States and Japan.
u>A xq3F -B3w RAEt At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
9i2vWSga Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
C_^R_ performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
7AtXG^lK 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
Dho^^<`c+ and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
P B6/<n9# Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
H:{(CY?t 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
4G;`KqR@ United States and Canada.
Bn#HJ17/# y/sWy1P7 On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
9J;H.:WH album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
p3A-WK|NX Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
]- s`# is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
Uwm[q+sTp includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell

K / (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
Ppb2"I k (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
/w xxcq Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
z`r4edk3 composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
RoM*Qjw will be released at the end of September 2008 by
