V# `fs|e;y vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
sxt-Vs7+6 Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,

DrO2 y in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
?! `=X>5 first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
s%W<dDINl drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
PZ*pQ=` %Jrt4sg[j- At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
Mv6 -|O Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
L*~J%7 talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave

K' her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers

`YI f_a{ Polydor Records.

d-Tv`L# gwWN%Z" Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded
6#Q K%[1!> her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
$9ky{T?YG Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
U~ck!\0&T days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
q@xBJ[IM organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
b%S62(q P released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
T"0,r $3: 2007 in the United States and Japan.

[#0lCI At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
kVy\b E0o Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
7 %{ | performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
>G~R,{6U 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
f`&dQ,; and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
eR3$i)5 Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
?|ZTaX6A 2008 the singer started her second tour through the

United States and Canada.
1"e)5xI j7)Ao*WN On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
\R3H+ W album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
78/N Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
*>+,(1Fz is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
E_bO9nRHV includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell

"VY%S^ (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
{U_$&f9s (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
R?p00 Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
{4-[r#R<M composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
