taste was influenced by her father's large selection of ga^O

vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny sl-LX)*N#  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, Z'<=06  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering ULMG"."IH  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a j2deb`GD  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to B`<(qPD

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in !V$nU8p|  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical PV(bJ7&R

Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with c%>t(ce`Tl

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded EyI 9$@4  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York 91E!4t

Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five M ioS  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians xE;4#+_I  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was vUS$DUF  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November }EE   
2007 in the United States and Japan. =

Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She 6}L[7~1

includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell fF_1ZKx+#!  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson xY5Idl->  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine Q'*-gg&)

composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and '
