At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short +s DV~\Vu  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself =.]4;z  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her 'Xq|Kf (  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped ;P%1j|7  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical !\.pq 2  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of GH:jH]u!V  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny iN8zo:&Z  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, V7fq4O^:  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering ieCEo|b  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a >rKIG~P_  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to G[I"8iS,  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. c>:wd@w

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in lKp"xcAD  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical FX`>J6l:X  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave O6a<`]F  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers <~'"<HwtK  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with sF?TmBQ*

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded l

her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York g:D>.lKd  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five xU>WEm2  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians 0gy/:T  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was lVR~Bh  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November JG!m

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through RJ ||}5  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she K>r,(zgVc  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January YY((V@| K  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, B^Nf #XN(  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig }=UHbU.n~!  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June t?ZI".>  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the U;V7 u/{

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second /-ch`u md  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in 3n1;G8Nf  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She ? m= N]!n  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band @ ZwvBH  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell *_{j=sd  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson VT%NO'0  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine B+VubUPMS  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and 4*#18<u5  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and B=T'5 &  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by S_4?K)n #
