I{+A At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short

time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself
zmf"I[) to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her

*( k%MTG vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny

hQy36i@ Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,

i90}Xyt in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
#2 \8?UPd first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
"YJ[$TG drop out of school at the age of eighteen.

C At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
A2y6UzLYD Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
CWs: l3_yn talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave

dU%R\ Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded
*(G& B\ her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
;hwzYXWF Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five

o n days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
o~#f1$|Xn organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
Kq&qE>Ju released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
G}VDEC 2007 in the United States and Japan.
:\b|dvI < :?=Q39O9 At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
o'Wz*oY))\ Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
,}0$Tv\1 performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
&v kjmiAS 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
w2{g,A | and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
,[isib3 Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
l 4vTU= 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
2no$+4+z United States and Canada.
o0ZBi|U\4 !`&\Lx_ On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
FI"HJwAs album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
Fi2xr<7" Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
+q {[\#t5 is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
`G!M>h@ includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
2&he($HIzg (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
@;iXp>&& (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
UKtSm%\ Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
r37[)kJ composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
Eectxyr?;N will be released at the end of September 2008 by
+G*JrwJ&= Universal Music France.
