At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short tKXI k9e  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself j0q&&9/Jj  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her o }m3y  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped 3!_XEN[  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical Jln:`!#fDf  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of }Zp,+U*"  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny #Gi$DMW  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, `Urhy#LC  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering rYk0 ak  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a S,8elKH4  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to d&>^&>?$zh

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in I7]8Y=xf  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical w,D+j74e$  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave -mh3DhJ,  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers ;$Jo+#  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with +lTq^

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded :Hbv)tS\3w  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York Q,E o mt  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five \{NO?%s0p  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians 3XNCAb2  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was K(|}dl:  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November @2#lI

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through n=q76W\  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she ~V6D<  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January ia? c0xL  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, ?V=CB,^  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig J[kTlHMD  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June y1#1Ne_  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the cz$2

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second |':{lH6+1  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in l+b~KU7~l  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She nr#|b`J]  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band z(~_AN M4,  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell ji="DYtL  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson qxj(p o  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine "Y.y:Vv;  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and ajpXL  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and k;W XB|k  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by |l!aB(NW
