H time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself

g&wQ^ taste was influenced by her father's large selection of
'h=2_%l@Y vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
I-"{m/PEdg Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,
n5/Q)*e0'# who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering
;{20Heuz in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a

~W5lo first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
[t'"4 drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
:Yqa[._AF _Ohq'ZgXm At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
aoS1Yt'@ Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
sxtGl^,mU: talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave
1L7,x @w her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers

.5xzY }XU- J An Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded

4 her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
A\Gw+l<h, Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
\9^@,kfP days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
"N_?yA#(j organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
9~yuyv4$ released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
cO9Aw! 2007 in the United States and Japan.
2hP8ZfvIR g~b'}^J At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
%#~Wk|8} Q Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
,~#hHhR_ performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
Q{6 0^v g 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
7 j8_O@_ and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
u!W00;`L Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
S{6u\Vy 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
yM@cml6Ox United States and Canada.
mr? ii +fN0> @s On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
75f.^4/% album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
"?SnA +) Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
*VB*/^6A is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band

.J 9 includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
v#xF;@G (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
b8&9pLl (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
;nE}%lT Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
}{J8U2])k composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
