F as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
PxvxZJf$@ bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
e^\#DDm Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
`w8cV ? its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to
UX.rzYM&T accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling

z7)$m0',? truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
gm8Jx hL laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
(n uTfmt> and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
SMRCG"3qwA younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album

> and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
SkVah:cF- Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.
DB_oRr[oj If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr
(b&Z\?" seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters

O#C0~U]dDW be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

KR R The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs
MBKF8b'k themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
kApD D[ N lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
8oR q3 " than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
P c5C*{C but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
|E||e10wR kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
uGW#z_{(n his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
B> \q!dX3 doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
0 o BAJP icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
0]]OE+9<c in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.
[eTEK W] o8%o68py Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too
MTgf . polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your
[z= !OFdE affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
Z C<EPUV( your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
