Mary Mary is an American gospel music duo, consisting of sisters Erica Monique Atkins (born April 29, 1972(1972-04-29)) and Trecina "Tina" Evette Atkins (born May 1, 1975(1975-05-01)) . The duo are often credited along with Kirk Franklin for broadening the fan base of urban contemporary gospel in the 2000s by introducing elements of soul music, hip hop and funk. The Sound is the fourth studio album and fifth overall release by R&B/gospel duo Mary Mary. It will be released on October 21, 2008 in the U.S.. In the UK, The Sound's release has been delayed to September, then it has since been delayed again till October.
