1jmhh!, ~s^&*KaA Since their inception, High Places have created a signature
tBBN62^X sound out of using bass-heavy yet crisp beats, lilting vocal
`M>{43dj melodies and syncopated rhythmic lines performed on folk
k9 *0xukJ percussion instruments, guitar duets turned into treated
kq%`9,XE samples, and percussive lines created from the manipulation of
>^J!Z~;L) household objects. The songwriting is expansive and fluid, all

+ the while managing to be concise. High Places gravitate toward
JR<R8+@g_ the organic over the electronic, and that natural aesthetic
SiBbz4 adds warmth and intimacy to the recordings.

WDs]\ +?@qux! High Places' self-titled debut was recorded by the band's Rob
'\_)\`a| Barber and Mary Pearson in their apartment in Brooklyn's Fort

|y=gp instruments to make this album, ranging from the more

bass, bells and Kalimba; to the inventive: plastic bags,
v*^2[pf mixing bowls, wood blocks and other common household objects.

wB4 The album has a contemplative and organic lyrical tone
y(zU:. emphasized by the themes of goodness manifested in nature,
!*ucVv; hardship and wonder as necessities to human existence and
vVf!XZF growth. Additionally, the idea of maturation and development
enrmjA&3 is further accented through the recurring mention of trees and
#3$|PM7,_ their extending, enveloping braches.
