专辑介绍:
;|0P\3 FvY=!U06 Since their inception, High Places have created a signature
@HPr;m! sound out of using bass-heavy yet crisp beats, lilting vocal
Arm'0)B> melodies and syncopated rhythmic lines performed on folk
^2);*X> percussion instruments, guitar duets turned into treated
A]TEs)#*7) samples, and percussive lines created from the manipulation of
fgeh;cD household objects. The songwriting is expansive and fluid, all
!#:5^":; the while managing to be concise. High Places gravitate toward
dW%t ph the organic over the electronic, and that natural aesthetic
B{R [z%Y adds warmth and intimacy to the recordings.
%~x?C4L8 (Hj[9[= High Places' self-titled debut was recorded by the band's Rob
Zp3-Yo w2 Barber and Mary Pearson in their apartment in Brooklyn's Fort
J@2wPKh?Yp Greene neighborhood. They employed a wide variety of
DqT<bNR1*; instruments to make this album, ranging from the more
Lc5zu7ncg traditional: 12 string guitar, banjo, shakers and rattles,
\cCH/ bass, bells and Kalimba; to the inventive: plastic bags,
r'jUB^E mixing bowls, wood blocks and other common household objects.

The album has a contemplative and organic lyrical tone
'fl< ac,. emphasized by the themes of goodness manifested in nature,
OcO/wA(&{ hardship and wonder as necessities to human existence and

G@#lf@M] is further accented through the recurring mention of trees and
