( Since their inception, High Places have created a signature
Li!Vx1p;u. sound out of using bass-heavy yet crisp beats, lilting vocal
l=
=`` melodies and syncopated rhythmic lines performed on folk
j/R[<47 percussion instruments, guitar duets turned into treated
JLnH&(O samples, and percussive lines created from the manipulation of

!Y$h"<M Jy)KqdkX+ High Places' self-titled debut was recorded by the band's Rob
kw#;w=\>R{ Barber and Mary Pearson in their apartment in Brooklyn's Fort
C9~52+S Greene neighborhood. They employed a wide variety of
!j:9`XD| instruments to make this album, ranging from the more
M^O2\G#B traditional: 12 string guitar, banjo, shakers and rattles,
eFaO7mz5V% bass, bells and Kalimba; to the inventive: plastic bags,
(a[y1{DLy mixing bowls, wood blocks and other common household objects.

uehDIl0\[b hardship and wonder as necessities to human existence and

A;*d}Xe&J is further accented through the recurring mention of trees and
