(,<ti): as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of
vb{+yEa bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The
SSANt?\Z< Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to
CB5 ~!nKv& its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to

accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling
H4'xxsx mineral water.
`; L0ax 8$!/Zg The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that
dKcHj<'E/ truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his
/#?lG`'1 laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost
iYj+NL and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his
24 S,w>j younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album
U$KdY _Z97 and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to
4*9y4" Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour.

o If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr
xq',pzN seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters
AF5.gk= Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that.

l$ If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably
uY;-x~Z be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of

vyT$IdV2 themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant
+u*WUw! % lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier
!G3O!] than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so
>:5/V0;, but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any
=kohQ d.n kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although
a;m- Vu! his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is
YVZm^@ZVV doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of
:<Y,^V( icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything
[2.uwn]i in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising.

>Rs:Fw|jro affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than
U aj8}7v your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair
vL{sk|2& comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit
M?x/C2| his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit
?8fa/e of fire and even some unpredictability would have been
0Pu$1Fp welcome. Then again, the Bluesbunny was always a quadruple
