At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short :>AW@SoTp  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself qb>|n1F_  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her Tb!B!m  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped *783xEF>f  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical ^5FJ}MMJf  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of +[X.-,yW  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny ,N))=/  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, |2t7G9[n  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering VrAXOUJw6  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a A9fjMnw  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to RJ=c[nb  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. wM2)KM}$

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in x 1%J1?Fp  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical -6em*$k^  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave f2R+5` $  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers (:j+[3Ht  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with [`Qp;_K?t

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded fRv S@  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York f/IRO33  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five L8?Z!0D/h  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians w/^0

organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was "x=@,*Bk  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November y ? {PoNI

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through pT_e;,KW U  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she :(S/$^U  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January @tjZvRtZ  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, %xbz&'W,  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig 56O<CgJF<  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June X"qbB4(I  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the J7

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second ^$&"<  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in i

Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She S#0|#Z5qD  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band 9bzYADLI  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell u%gm+NneK  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson ?:;hTY  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine O+8ApicjTc
