N V^ktln to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her

(uD( ,3/Cw taste was influenced by her father's large selection of
axxd W)+K vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
cSnm \f Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,
iS hB ^ who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering
? k<wI)JR in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
Gmc xN< first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
ZL+ {?1&- drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
|&o1i~Y B B 1'B-O At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in

B Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
tI{pu}/"# talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave

Sr,ZM1J M+ ^]j Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded
E JNj.c-# her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
~bWqoJ;Q Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
P(VQ D>G days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
\V7Hi \ ) organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was

released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
%Jq(,u 2007 in the United States and Japan.

nPRt At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
2Qc&6-;` Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
+)qPUKb? performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
[t: =%&B 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
^pKC0E[% and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
E"x 2 jP Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
;TEZD70r 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
RIC'JL WQ United States and Canada.
&+J5GHt@ Yn'X SV|g On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
0;!aO.l]K album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
c 5mv4 MC Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
&pZ]F=.r+ is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
h%E25in includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
' f}^/`J (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
VS%8f.7ep (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
h7~&r Wb Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and

a+ composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
